Payroll Deduction through United Way

Did you know that the Michigan Safety Conference (MSC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization?  Therefore, MSC is eligible to receive donations through the United Way, should you designate us as your charity.  Your Workplace’s United Way Campaign Coordinator and/or Campaign Committee should be able to help you complete the pledge form. Or, local United Way staff members are always there to offer assistance as well.

Any gift to a charity should be seen as an investment, and you want to invest in a charity that will make a major impact on its recipients while also giving you personal satisfaction. An investment approach to a particular group or cause will ensure a more meaningful experience for you.  If you support Workplace Health and Safety, the Michigan Safety Conference would be a great choice.

An added benefit, most charitable donations are tax-deductible. To receive a tax deduction, you will need the proper documentation when filing your income tax returns. The IRS requires a receipt for each tax-deductible contribution of $250 or more. Depending on the amount or type of your gift, you may need to provide additional documents with your tax form, such as Form 8283 for each non-cash donation exceeding $500.  Keep in mind that charitable giving qualifies for a tax deduction only if it goes to a tax-exempt organization, as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which we are.
